Polaris IA International joins forces with Greater China
Accountants Alliance
Polaris IA International has signed an agreement with the Greater China Accountants Alliance (GCAA), an alliance of 28 independent Chinese accounting firms from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. The agreement came to completion at the GCAA’s 3rd annual meeting held in Beijing on 17th ? 19th July, 2004. Mr. Cui Jianmin, President of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, was present at the ceremony. Signing the memorandum of understanding was Art Goessel, Executive Director of Polaris IA, and Charles Chan, President of the GCAA.
The GCAA was officially launched in Beijing on 18th July, 2001 which coincided with China’s accession to the WTO. The mission of the GCAA is to build up a substantial network of independent firms in Greater China to improve accounting standards through interacting with each other. Member firms share knowledge and information of regional markets to provide quality services to clients. Member firms joined GCAA voluntarily with an aim to strengthen their competitiveness in the market and enhance their services.
The establishment of GCAA received the full support of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, accounting institutes in other provinces and accounting associations. According to a recent survey reported by the International Accounting Bulletin, with the GCAA Alliance, Polaris IA’s Asia-Pacific region would rank the network as the 11th largest in Asia. The GCAA knows that by collaborating with Polaris IA, its members will gain more opportunities internationally.
